Blog Post 1: Delivering Messages Through Social Media
This week, we are discussing two brands that are doing a great job delivering their messages via social media. Since this course focuses on Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter, I will be analyzing brand presence on those platforms and additionally TikTok, as it’s currently a trending platform.
Delta Airlines
Delta’s biggest strength is knowing their audiences on every different platform, and using that knowledge to their advantage. Their content varies significantly from platform to platform, but their branding still makes their message clear.Delta’s TikTok is my personal favorite of their platforms. They keep up with all the trends, but the content is still relevant and consistent with their brand image.
Delta’s Twitter is interactive, and they actually respond to customers with questions or complaints. As an airline, customer service is one of the most important aspects of your brand to showcase on social media.
Delta’s Facebook is informative, but they also share testimonials to appeal to that audience.
Lastly, Delta’s Instagram has many aesthetically pleasing photos, many of which are from customers. Since Instagram is centered around photos, using travel photos from customers is a perfect way to showcase their brand on that platform and engage with their customers.
Taco Bell
Taco Bell doesn’t differentiate their content as much as Delta, but I believe their strength lies in keeping up with trends and posting interactive content while still getting their message across and promoting their brand.Looking at all of Taco Bell’s accounts as a whole, I noticed that they retweet and repost a lot of followers’ content. Here’s an example from Twitter, Instagram, and TikTok. This is a great way to connect with their customers while also promoting their brand.
Taco Bell also does a good job of keeping up with trends on all platforms. Here’s an example from Twitter and TikTok.
Overall, I think both of these approaches work well for the respective brands in delivering their message across social media.
