Blog Post #11: The Power of Images
Images are one of the most powerful tools a brand can use to send messages to their audiences. On platforms like Instagram, where photos or videos are the center of every post, it is important that brands use photos with intention to get their messages across. Three examples of successful image usage I will be highlighting in this post are from Gucci, Ford, and Nature Valley.
Gucci used this photo (along with quite a few others) of Harry Styles from his concert tour, wearing a custom Gucci set. I think this photo showcases the brand's versatility in being worn by famous people but also being sold to the public. To me, this sends a message that Gucci is still relevant to young and fashionable people, and it was clearly well received by the commenters.
Ford posted this photo of one of their cars that was drawn by a follower. I think this image and post does a good job of sending Ford's message that their cars are so exciting that it cant be felt through art. The audience had a very positive reaction to this post, especially because the model of the drawn car is from a movie, giving the post a pop culture aspect as well.
Lastly, Nature Valley posted this image of a granola bar with a scenic background. The message is very clear to me in this image that Nature Valley bars are the snack you should take on your adventures. The audience also had a great reaction to this post, mentioning that these are their favorite or that they want to try them.
